The TU Darmstadt seeks to foster a hospitable climate for start-ups at the university. This means promoting internal potential for business concepts and entrepreneurial personalities at an early stage and increasing the number of knowledge-based spin-offs.
To this end, entrepreneurially oriented scientists, students and graduates are provided with individual, no-cost support in all phases of the start-up process.
By forging ahead with practical applications for the results of publicly supported research, they not only make a societal contribution through knowledge transfer, but also open new career perspectives for their members.
Promotion of corporate start-ups at the TU Darmstadt
The TU Darmstadt senate voted back in December 2005 to support corporate start-ups from within the university.
The central entrepreneurial counselling centre was established one year later as part of the UniTechSpin project, offering a comprehensive portfolio of measures to help support potential corporate founders. The project is situated within the university's Office for Research Affairs and is scheduled to receive support from 2007 through 2010 by the German Ministry for Economy and Technology (BMWi) as part of the “EXIST III” programme.
