Erasmus+ International provides opportunities for study, teaching, and continuing education outside of Europe

TU Darmstadt offers aid programs with the following partner countries and universities through the framework of Erasmus+.

China

Tongji University

In cooperation with the Tongji University the following opportunities are offered:

  • Study abroad (incoming only)
  • Visiting professors and faculty (incoming and outgoing)

Israel

IDC Herzliya & Technion

In cooperation with the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya and the Technion Israel Institute of Technology the following opportunities are offered:

  • Study abroad (incoming and outgoing)
  • Visiting professors and faculty (incoming and outgoing)

Brasil

University of São Paulo

In cooperation with Universidade de São Paulo, the following programmes are offered:

  • Study abroad (incoming only)
  • Visiting professors and faculty (incoming and outgoing)

USA

Virginia Tech & University of Rhode Island

In cooperation with the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and the University of Rhode Island, the following opportunities are offered:

Russia

St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, UNECON & ITMO University

In coordination with the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, and the St. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON) and the ITMO University St. Petersburg, the following opportunities are offered:

  • Study abroad (incoming and outgoing)
  • Visiting professors and faculty (incoming and outgoing)

Funding for Study Abroad (SMS) Incoming

Funding for Erasmus+ programmes is determined by the European commission:

  • Students traveling to Germany: travel grant of €800 per month
  • Students traveling from Germany: travel grant of €650 per month

In addition to these living costs, travel costs are subsidized based on the distance between the starting location and the destination. The distances will be determined by the committee using this calculator.

Application: selected students are nominated by the International Office of the respective partner university. It is not possible to apply directly.

Funding for professors and researchers – personal travel (ST)

The following aid is offered for up to a maximum of 14 days.

  • University employees traveling to Germany: travel grant of €120 per day
  • University employees traveling from Germany: travel grant of €160 per day

In addition to the rates, travel costs will be subsidized based on the distance from the starting location to the destination. The distances will be determined by the committee using this calculator.

Duration: Usually 5 – 10 days

Requirement for professors: At least eight hours of teaching per week

Application- Incoming: Interested employees at partner universities are nominated by their respective International Offices for a stay at the TU Darmstadt.

Application- Outgoing: Interested employees of the TU Darmstadt (both professors and administrative personnel) fill out an informal statement of interest at the Department of International Relationships ( Babette Chabilan, ).
