Information about Aid

Since the academic year 2012/2013, the scholarship program of the Max Müller and Delphine Müller-Alewyn Foundation has supported a student exchange program between TU Darmstadt and Finnish universities. Therefore, students at the Technical University of Darmstadt and its Finnish partner universities have the opportunity to receive the Finland-Scholarship after being successfully nominated for the award.

The Finland-Scholarship of the Müller Alewyn Foundation will additionally be paid to the Erasmus+ Scholarship. Requirements for this scholarship are listed below.

Requirements for Students at TU-Darmstadt

  • Must be a matriculated student at TU Darmstadt
  • Must be selected by their academic department and additionally be nominated by the Department of International Relationships and Mobility and be willing to study abroad at a Finnish University the following academic year.
  • Must have successfully completed a Finnish language course (at least level A1 GER). Please note, that a higher level of mastery will lead to better chances at receiving this aid.
  • Must apply before the deadline with the application form and necessary supplementary materials.

Requirements for Students at Finnish Partner Universities:

  • Must be a matriculated student at one of the Finnish partner universities.
  • Must be nominated by their university for study abroad at TU Darmstadt.
  • Must have completed a German language course showing proficiency in German language.
  • Must apply before the deadline with the application form and necessary supplementary materials.

Capacity:

Every semester, a maximum of two students from TU Darmstadt and three Students from Finnish partner universities are awarded this scholarship. Students may participate for a maximum of two semesters. The scholarship is worth €1,250.00 per semester in total.

Application:

The following materials must be submitted as part of the application.

  • Application Form
  • For students at TU Darmstadt: Finnish language level certificate (for example, a DAAD form from the language center)For students at a Finnish partner university: German language level certificate from theLanguage center (DAAD form)
  • Current list of qualifications
  • Cover Letter (written in German or English)
  • Resume (written in German or English)

Deadlines:

The completed applications of the nominated students from TU-Darmstadt and its Finnish partner universities are due:

  • By July 31 for study abroad during the upcoming Winter semester or participating in two semesters abroad
  • By January 31 for study abroad during the upcoming Summer semester.

Applications cannot be submitted via email.

Received applications will be checked for completeness. The scholarships will be awarded by a selection committee on the basis of certified language ability, the cover letter, and academic record.

The payment of the award will come in two installments to the given account.
