Automated Evaluation and Selection of Bundles of Measures for Passenger Flow Management during Disruptions in German Regional Train Services
The application of beforehand scheduled concepts of action in case of disruptions are called disruption programs. They enable proficient processes in disruptions of operations. Besides the reorganization of train schedules, passenger flows and their management must be taken into account whilst creating the disruptions programs. Management measures are e.g. the release of superior train services, the reference to other modes of transport or altered timing of the travel chain. As passenger flow management measures may interact with each other and complement each other, the use of measure bundles is intended.
The aim of this research project is the derivation of algorithms for case-specific selection of bundles of measures for passenger flow management.
The first step is processing a literature search for the combined evaluation of measures. In the second step algorithms are to be developed, that detect which combinations of measures for specific disruptions situations are applicable. For this purpose, the influencing conditions and interactions of measures need to be determined. A list of feasible combinations of measures involving other modes of transport for arbitrary disruption situations in German regional train services is the result of the algorithms.
