  • Electroactive Polymers
    • Technoloy and Applications of Dielectric Elastomer Transducers
  • Integrated Actuator/Sensor Systems
    • Small and Micro Drives, Micro Actuators
    • Structural and Functional Integrated Electromechanical Transducers
    • Characterisation of Micro Systems
    • Development Methodology and Characterisation of Integrated Actuator/Sensor Systems

Relevant knowledge and skills in design methods, device modeling and respective measurement techniques are expected.

A fully equipped clean room lab for micro systems related research activities, including optical lithography, wet and plasma enhanced etching tools and CVD is available. Service facilities in packaging, wet chemistry, electronics and a precision engineering and service workshop can be used as well.

We expect applicants to collaborate with other departments at TU Darmstadt and also with other research groups in one of the university’s priority research areas. In addition, interdisciplinary collaborations at national and international level is expected as well. Experiences in industry or in research organizations are desirable.

An excellent doctorate degree, pedagogical and didactic skills as well as appropriate professional experiences (habilitation or habilitation-equivalent achievements) are required. Applicants are expected to participate in academic teaching concerning Bachelor and Master courses.

The position is tenured with a remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications, following the German "W-Besoldung" and subject to negociations between the applicant and the university directorate. The regulations for employment are specified under §§ 61 and 62 HHG (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
