Online Forum: Studying with Mental Well-Being
2026/01/14
The “Studying with Mental Well-Being” forum organized by Irrsinnig Menschlich e.V. is a joint initiative supported by the Central Student Advisory Services (Zentrale Studienberatungen, ZSB) of various higher education institutions in the German state of Hesse. Its aim is to encourage students and university teaching staff to openly address mental health crises and to engage in dialogue about warning signs, coping strategies, available support services at their institutions, as well as risk and protective factors during the course of study. Support services and points of contact at the participating universities will be presented.
The goal of the “Studying with Mental Well-Being” forums is to promote a positive approach to mental health at universities in order to foster academic success. This includes, among other things, reducing fears, prejudices, and stigma surrounding mental health crises, improving help-seeking behavior, and initiating health-promoting processes within higher education institutions.
