Learn how to transform your research findings into innovative solutions!
This workshop offers insights into the work of HIGHEST, the Innovation and Startup Center at TU Darmstadt.
Additionally, the workshop covers essential basics of patent law and inventions. You will discover how to protect your ideas and inventions to secure their economic or societal potential.
We will highlight the importance of transfer and innovation and discuss why it is crucial to utilize research findings beyond scientific knowledge. You will see how innovations can positively impact society.
Inspirational Success Stories:
Hear about Magnotherm and Mimosense, two successful examples of how research findings can be effectively applied. These stories are meant to motivate and inspire you to advance your own projects.
Practical Brainstorming Session:
A key focus of the workshop is a practical brainstorming session on innovation development. Here, you will have the opportunity to collaboratively develop ideas on how your research findings can be turned into innovative products or services. Bring your creativity and expertise!
Financing Your Innovations:
An essential aspect of implementing your innovations is securing funding. We will introduce various funding options and explain how to obtain the necessary resources for further development of your ideas.

Your trainer Simone Lühl
studied biology and information and knowledge management, and completed the course IP and patent rights at FernUniversität Hagen. Simone Lühl
Innovations have always excited her. Hence, she decided early to support teams and companies to accompany their innovations on their way into society and economy. She worked for a long time as an innovation manager for the universities of Rhineland-Palatinate and spent seven years in Namibia leading the innovation projects of a large local dairy company. In addition, she managed the largest organic market in the capital Windhoek. Today, she is working as a StartUp Coach at the TU Darmstadt with HIGHEST.
Her motto: When you commit to your deepest dream and vision of the life you really want, the result is an irreplaceable contribution to the world that can only come through you.
Your trainer Jessica Retzlaff
Jessica Retzlaff is a cultural anthropologist and finds interdisciplinary approaches particularly exciting. She has always had an affinity for technology and likes to think in terms of possible applications. She initially worked in the automotive industry before returning to university to bring her passion for future-orientated solutions to the table. Her goal with her work is to support people who want to make the world a better place with their ideas and inventions. Today, she is innovation manager at HIGHEST – the Innovation and StartUp Centre at TU Darmstadt.
