Short CV

Alejandra Osorio Tarazona is a Peruvian historian who graduated from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Peru, and the Universidad Católica del Perú. She works as a doctoral research fellow for the project “A Global History of Technology, 1850-2000” at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany.

Her Ph.D. project focuses on cooking technologies in twentieth-century Peru and Argentina. In 2017 she worked as a researcher for the project “Technology Transfer and Sectorial Development in the Peruvian Economy, 1890-1967” at the Universidad del Pacífico, Peru, and was a lecturer at the same university house. She has researched the development of fishery science during the 1960s in Peru, as well as female participation in scientific development. After her undergraduate studies in art history, Osorio worked for many years in the production of art exhibitions, mainly from contemporary Latin American artists.
