Violence in German Schools
Prevalence and Causes
Using quantitative data from a longitudinal survey (1994, 1999, 2004, 2010) among secondary school students in Germany the prevalence of various types of violent behaviors is assessed for well defined groups of students (by age, gender, type of school, immigrant background and the like). Also, the project aims to determine causes for the occurrence of violent behaviors.
Pre-requisites or requirements for the project
- basic knowledge in one of the standard statistical packages (e.g. SPSS or STATA)
- ability to read a German questionnaire and basic scientific literature in German
