Art meets Science

Theo Jansen's Strandbeesten symbolise dynamism, complexity and structural versatility, which are a fitting symbol for our programme. We would like to take this opportunity to expressly thank the artist Theo Jansen for providing us with images of his kinetic sculptures free of charge!

Interdisciplinarity is not just a current trend; it expands the scope of specialists to find answers to questions that cannot be found in a single discipline. Complex connections between technology, the environment, politics and society can thus be clarified and help to solve urgent problems across disciplines.

The TU Darmstadt offers a wide variety of interdisciplinary courses within the ISP-programme. ISP stands for “Interdisciplinary Study Program”. The focus is on topics relevant to the future, in particular with respect to ecology, politics, and technology.

The various ISP courses are available for students of all disciplines.

The climate crisis is one of the greatest challenges of our time. is dedicated to the scientific foundations of the climate crisis and sheds light on its far-reaching social and ecological effects. In addition to analysing the facts, it also focuses on the question of social responsibility.
