Beware of supposed support calls – phishing in a different guise

In the run-up to Christmas and between the years, scammers are very active again

When it comes to the end of the year, scammers pretending to be, for example, Microsoft support employees, important personalities or people who need to send you urgent information very quickly are always very active. Do not fall for them.

These callers may ask you to give them confidential information, e.g. passwords, fill out forms, or simply announce that you are about to receive an urgent e-mail whose attachment you need to open very quickly.

Do not fall for it, just hang up if the call does not come from a known phone number. If in doubt, you can also look up the official support phone number on the Internet and ask whether it was a regular call.
