The Department of Geothermal Science and Technology, Institute of Applied Geosciences (Prof. Dr. Ingo Sass) announces an open position from April 1st, 2018 as a:

Postdoc / Research associate

Initially limited for 3 years.

Functions
We are looking for highly motivated with strong interest in one or more of the following or related areas:

  • THMC numerical modeling,
  • Fluid-rock-interactions,
  • Geothermal reservoir characterization: Rock-mechanics, Petrophysics, or Geo-Hydrochemistry.

Applicants with the willingness to enhance their knowledge of numerical techniques (e.g. FEFLOW), as well as programming (C++, MATLAB, etc.) of special software add-ons, are welcome. Modern computer and laboratory equipment is provided.

About 60% of the position will be dedicated to coordination of and research within the BMWI-funded research project “ReSalt”. Beyond that, we expect professional and independent commitment in both research and teaching (one course per year).

Requirements
Candidates have completed their PhD/Dr. within the last three years and have a proven track record in one of the above-mentioned fields.

The fulfillment of the research and service requirements attached to this position serve at the same time as fulfillment of the academic requirements for a candidate's doctoral degree. Opportunity for further qualification (habilitation) is given.
