Exhibition

In 2027, the Kunstforum der TU Darmstadt will move to new, significantly larger premises – Hall 3 of the four listed mechanical engineering halls dating from 1955 / 1956 in the center of the TU campus.

The new exhibition hall will open with the international show FASTER, HIGHER, FURTHER, with which the TU Kunstforum continues its successful series of thematic exhibitions after HOME SWEET HOME (September 12 to November 15, 2020) and Wait, when the moon rises … (April 27 to October 29, 2023).

The exhibition focuses on competition, rivalry, and the pressure to stand out, which are particularly pronounced at a university—where the Kunstforum is located—and especially in the excellence process that TU Darmstadt is currently undergoing. At the same time, we are experiencing these ideas of optimization and competition in society in general, not only in sports, but also in the arts and culture.

The show will open up new spaces for thought using multimedia such as photography, painting, sculpture, installation, and video, and – like all Kunstforum exhibitions – is interdisciplinary and networked within the university as part of the supporting program. This leads to surprising perspectives.
