Following an initial stay of Prof. Jochen Hack at Virginia Tech in June 2019, Prof. Cully Hession from Virginia Tech visited in September 2019 our research group SEE-URBAN-WATER at TU Darmstadt as part of a strategic partnership between both universities. During his visit, he presented to the SEE-URBAN-WATER team and guest students the monitoring and research carried out by the of the Department of Biological Systems Engineering and others in the StREAMLAB at Stroubles creek. Focusing on the opportunities of collaboration in the field of urban stream ecology and green infrastructure development. Prof. Hession also joined Prof. Jochen Hack at the conference of “Riverine Landscapes as coupled socio-ecological systems” held in Vienna. Where he was an active participant of the special session and workshop on “Nature-based solutions at different scales in urban and rural river basins” organized by SEE-URBAN-WATER and PlanSMART.
