New team member joined SEE-URBAN-WATER October 17, 2019
Ricardo Bonilla officially joined SEE-URBAN-WATER on October 17, 2019. He will support our group as a PhD student for the next 4 years. Ricardo is receiving a a scholarship from the ALECOSTA (Alemania – Costa Rica Exchange) program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and CONARE. The scholarship offers scholars from our partner university, Universidad de Costa Rica, the opportunity to gain further qualifications in Germany through a PhD student scholarship. more

Conrad Schiffmann completed his master's degree in “Governance and Public Policy” at the TU Darmstadt and subsequently worked as an independent consultant and co-founder of his start-up company „ParqueO²“ in San José, Costa Rica. more

The 6th two-year symposium of the International Society for River Science will take place from September 8 to September 13 in Vienna, Austria.
The topic of ISRS2019 is “River landscapes as coupled social-ecological systems” dealing with research on the use and protection of water resources with a focus on heavily modified riverine landscapes. In this context, the junior research groups SEE-URBAN-WATER and PlanSmart offer a special session on “Nature-based solutions of various scales in urban and rural river basins”. more

DAAD ISAP-Programm mit der Universidad Technológica La Salle in León und der Universidad de Costa Rica in San José
Im Rahmen der Internationalen Studien- und Austauschpartnerschaft (ISAP) mit unseren Partneruniversitäten der Universidad Tecnológica La Salle in León, Nicaragua und der Universidad de Costa Rica in San José, Costa Rica sind jeweils drei Stipendien (Vollstipendien inkl. Reisekostenpauschale) pro Semester für ein 6-monatiges Austauschsemester zu vergeben.
Das Stipendium steht allen Studierenden der TU Darmstadt offen. Der Auslandsaufenthalt kann mit einem Praktikum und/oder der Anfertigung einer Abschlussarbeit (z.B. Bachelorarbeit) verbunden werden.

Cooperation agreement with National Water Authority of Nicaragua (ANA)
The cooperation agreement with the National Water Authority of Nicaragua (ANA) was signed during a visit by Luis Angel Montenegro (Minister-Director ANA) on June 8th 2018 in Darmstadt/Germany. In the context of the SEE-URBAN-WATER project, ANA will provide primary data, including the acquisitions of meteorological datasets from INETER or any other source, and support in the monitoring of water quality with multiparameter in-situ measurements and water quantity through the installation of pluviographs and limnimeter rulers along the river and the city of Leon.”

The cooperation agreement with the Universidad Tecnológica La Salle (ULSA) was signed on March 13th 2018 in León/Nicaragua. The universities concluded the agreement for the purpose of institutional cooperation in the fields of research and the exchange of knowledge and information. The cooperation is intended to present academic and cultural cooperation as an expression of a friendly relationship. more
