Since 2012, students of the TU Darmstadt are realizing internships at our partner universities, Universidad Technológica La Salle (ULSA) and since 2018 also at Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR), as part of their study program.
The main focus of work for interns is on current topics:
- Natural sciences: water quality management, alternative technologies for decentralized sewage treatment, ecological evaluation of urban waters and restoring to nature-processes
- Engineering sciences: analysis of urban water processes, GIS and water resources, sustainable urban water management, green infrastructure
- Economics: economic policy and evaluation of green infrastructure, economic evaluation of ecosystem efficiency and environmental-political actions
- Social sciences: social-ecological transformation processes, participative research method, multi-level governance and political ecology
After their return from Central America, the internship students report on their stay as part of a presentation to interested internship candidates and other former interns.
Below you will find further information on the range of tasks covered by the internships at ULSA. A summary in English gives an overview of the previous cooperation with the Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo de Tecnologías Energéticas Ambientales (CIDTEA) of ULSA. This can also be browsed at the bottom of this page.
Furthermore, internship reports of the cooperation with the Centro de Investigación y Estudios en Desarollo Sostenible (CIEDES) of UCR can be found below.
