Award of an honorary professorship to Dr. Baptiste Jean Germain Gault

Dr Baptiste Jean Germain Gault from the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research GmbH is a world-leading expert in the field of atom probe tomography. On 12 December 2023, Dr Gault was presented with the certificate of appointment as an honorary professor by the Dean of the Faculty of Physics at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Prof. Dr Michael Schreckenberg.
Atom probe tomography makes it possible to analyze materials down to their atomic structure and chemical composition, and thus establish the relationship of physical properties with previously inaccessible precision.
Dr Baptiste Jean Germain Gault leads the project Z01 “Advanced analytical electron microscopy and atom probe tomography” together with Prof. Dr rer. nat. Leopoldo Molina-Luna in the SFB/TRR 270 HoMMage.
