Guest student
News and Changed Dates
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the summer semester 2020 was held virtually. The course of the Covid-19 pandemic is not predictable. For this reason, the winter semester 2020/21 will also be held digitally.
Since we cannot yet guarantee whether guest students will be able to participate digitally, we recommend that you do not register as a guest student for the winter semester 2020/21.
We are looking forward to welcome you again as a guest student in a future semester, when teaching activities have resumed their regular format. We ask for your understanding and wish you happiness and good health. Please find further information in the following pdf file (in German).
Those interested in participating in specific courses at the Technical University of Darmstadt without having to prove prerequisites or providing proof of a university entrance qualification (such as an Abitur), can apply to be a guest student.
Guest students are not considered full students – and do not acquire student status – but are authorised to participate in approved courses. These courses are published in the course catalog for guest students on the first working day in March / September. Guest students also have access to computer labs, wifi, e-learning / Moodle, as well as to TU Darmstadt’s internal webpages.
To become a guest student, you must pay a fee of 50.00 Euros.
If you choose to transfer your semester fee via a foreign bank, please note that both banks (those of the sender and recipient) may charge fees.
