Information for new students
TUCaN is the central organization system for courses and examinations at the TU Darmstadt. With TUCaN, you register for modules, courses and examinations, you access to your current schedule and your grades, and you receive important messages.
TU-ID and E-Mail
You log on to TUCaN web portal with your TU-ID and the corresponding password.
You need your PIN-Code which you receive together with your student's card to generate and activate your personal TU-ID.
Please consider the following steps:
1. Activate your TU-ID
Here you activate your TU-ID. Usually, TUCaN should be accessible for you directly after having activated your TU-ID. Should there be any delays, we would ask you to be patient. At least after 2 days, your login for TUCaN should work… more about the TU-ID
2. Print your certificates of study
You can download or print your certificates of study in TUCaN from the section Service – My Documents…. more information
3. Configure your personal e-mail-address
Now you configure your university's e-mail-address in the account management portal. Important information from the TU Darmstadt will only be sent to this address… more information about the e-mail-address
4. Forwarding of TUCaN-messages
Important messages are sent via TUCaN, such as reminders for deadlines or cancellation of a course. We strongly recommend that you configure the forwarding of messages to your e-mail-account…go to tutorial
Orientation week at your department
Before your semester program starts, you will discover Darmstadt and the technical university with some of the older students. Thereby you will also get to know how to use TUCaN.
