Integrative Tissue Biology

At the Integrative Tissue Biology Lab, our research focuses on developing state-of-the-art platforms for in vitro vascularization of three-dimensional (3D) tissue constructs, organ-like structures, and tumor spheroids. By engineering physiologically relevant vascular networks, we aim to mimic the complex microenvironment found in human tissues. Our work bridges the fields of tissue engineering, vascular biology, and synthetic biology, allowing us to study tissue development, drug response, and disease mechanisms with unprecedented precision. Ultimately, our goal is to translate these findings into medical applications, particularly in the field of personalized medicine, by creating vascularized models that can be tailored to individual patient needs for drug testing and disease modeling.
