Thomas Weiland Foundation
Every year, the Thomas Weiland Foundation awards STEM scholarships to outstanding Master's students at TU Darmstadt. Young scientific talents get the opportunity to realize their potential within a new scope of action and gain valuable experience.
The Thomas Weiland Foundation at the Technische Universität Darmstadt was founded on 30th October 2014 and on 5th November 2014 was recognised as an incorporated foundation under civil law.
The purpose of the foundation is to provide support for young scientists in STEM subjects, i.e. in fields related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The Thomas Weiland Foundation is a non-profit foundation as defined by the German Tax Code (Para. 52 Section 2 Sentence 1 No. 1).
I wanted to enable excellent students from the STEM fields to study regardless of their financial circumstances, where they can focus on their interests free from financial constraints. This is the best basis for developing academically and thinking outside the box of the respective discipline.
