FAIRer data in TUdatalib – Changes to DOI registration
2026/04/13
Establishment of a curation process to improve FAIRness of datasets with a DOI
The number of datasets archived and published in TUdatalib is continuously increasing – we just crossed the threshold of 1,500 datasets. The TUdata team appreciates the broad interest in the service.
Data publications in TUdatalib should achieve the greatest possible impact — to this end, it is essential that they are as FAIR as possible. To meet this goal, we are launching a pilot project to test how we can support you in improving the FAIRness of your datasets through a review process.
As part of this project, the following changes to the workflows will take effect starting April 15, 2026:
- Local admins will initiate the workflow for DOI registration at the push of a button, instead of registering the DOI directly.
- Information experts from TUdata will, if necessary, provide suggestions for improving the dataset
- The final DOI registration will be carried out by the TUdata team.
Admins will still be able to view the future DOI of a dataset in the system without delay and communicate it externally if needed.
