Baking waffles for the RMU spirit

TU President participated in campaign by Rhine-Main universities

2026/02/16

With their joint campaign “Waffles for Students,” the Rhine-Main Universities (RMU) have set an example for active cooperation and direct dialogue with students. TU Darmstadt was also part of the initiative: President Tanja Brühl handed out freshly baked waffles at the Bistro Stadtmitte today and talked to students.

The event was accompanied by an information stand about RMU studies. Interested parties were able to find out about the joint study programs offered by TU Darmstadt, Goethe University Frankfurt, and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.

Contact persons were available to answer questions and explain the opportunities offered by the RMU program, such as attending courses at the partner universities. The RMU currently offers ten joint degree programs, two of which are new for the upcoming summer semester: the two master's programs “Particle Accelerator Science” and “Urban Studies.” In addition, the alliance offers an open range of courses with selected classes for its students through the RMU program. RMU students can enroll at up to three universities in two federal states at the same time without additional fees. The RMU program at the partner universities thus complements the studies at the students' own universities.

The campaign was part of a joint initiative within the RMU network: on February 3 at Goethe University Frankfurt and on February 10 at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, students took the opportunity to find out more about the RMU program over waffles.
