European Energy Excursion
2026/04/09
With the support of the Unite! Seed Fund for Student Activity, a group of master's students from TU Darmstadt and fellow Unite! universities is launching Unite! E3 – European Energy Excursion. This student-driven initiative aims to explore Europe's energy transition through an international one-week study trip across Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. Registration is open until 30 April 2026. The excursion will take place from 7 to 13 June 2026.
The excursion will include site visits to innovative companies, energy infrastructure projects, and political institutions, offering participating students practical insights into the complex technical, economic, and political challenges of the energy transition. By exchanging perspectives and engaging in peer-to-peer learning, the initiative fosters international collaboration and builds a professional network among students from different Unite! universities.

"The European energy transition needs engineers that think beyond their university. Be one of them."
Unite! E3 brings together students from four Unite! universities: TU Darmstadt, UPC Barcelona, Aalto University and TU Graz. Inspired by a successful local energy excursion at TU Darmstadt, the project is now scaling up to a European level. Planned activities include visits to major players such as Siemens Energy – and a visit to the European Commission in Brussels. Pre- and post-event activities at each university will ensure long-term impact and community building.
Set to take place from 7 to 13 June, the project is currently in the planning phase, with support from professors and companies already in place. Organised travel and accommodations will facilitate a seamless experience, while social events will foster strong interpersonal connections across borders.
All students of the four participating Unite! universities are eligible to take part. Registration takes place via the Metacampus and is open until 30 April 2026.
By actively involving students and engaging industry partners, Unite! E3 sets the stage for a recurring, sustainable activity within the Unite! Alliance – one that encourages the next generation of energy engineers to shape Europe’s energy future. mho
