The successful candidate’s research will focus on Applied Microeconomics. Additional research directions in the areas of game theory, industrial economics, innovation economics, or network economics are welcome. She or he should engage in the main research areas of the department: “Digital Transformation”, “Innovation & Growth”, or “Logistics & Supply Chain Management”.
This position contributes to the Degree Programs of the Department focusing on Business Administration/Industrial Engineering and Business Information Systems. Teaching should be complementary to the existing chairs in economics.
We are looking for high-potential candidates with a PhD degree in economics and publications in leading journals. She or he should have experience in attracting external research funding and have an international focus. Candidates will develop a strong research program and contribute actively to the research focus within the department and collaborating disciplines within the university. Candidates should be familiar with teaching courses at Bachelor and Master Levels and should be prepared to teach in English.
The assistant professorship is designed as a Qualification Professorship as per § 64 HHG. Accordingly, the maximum period of scientific activities after the PhD degree should not exceed four years. Furthermore, applicants should have completed their PhD degree at a university other than the TU Darmstadt or have been scientifically active outside the TU Darmstadt for at least two years after the PhD degree. Remuneration follows the German W-Besoldung at level W2 Hessisches Besoldungsgesetz. The position is initially limited to six years. For the position, the option for a tenured professorship after a successful tenure procedure is given. Corresponding achievements in research and teaching will be evaluated in the tenure procedure, which can be opened one and a half years before the end of the assistant professorship. After a successful probationary phase, the immediate transition to an unlimited professorship is planned. Further information can be found in the Tenure Guidelines of the TU Darmstadt.
