At the Department of Chemistry, Technische Chemie 1, at Technische Universität Darmstadt, the position of a
is to be filled at the earliest opportunity in an employment contract initially limited to 3 years.
As part of a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), complex structured, mesh-like catalysts for alkaline water electrolysis are to be developed. For this purpose, the project partner's metallic substrates are coated with active catalysts. The structured catalysts obtained are to be characterized in terms of material technology and to be tested electrochemically with respect to activity and stability. The structured catalysts are to be further developed together with the project partners from industry and the university.
Motivated candidates with a completed scientific university degree (M.Sc.) in chemistry, materials science or an equivalent degree should have in-depth knowledge of electrochemistry and galvanic catalyst synthesis, preferably in the field of alkaline water electrolysis. Background and practical experience in electrodeposition, in electrochemical methods in half-cells, and in the material characterization of catalysts are advantageous. Excellent team and communication skills are required for the interdisciplinary work in the joint project.
The general tasks include the supervision of students in the field of technical chemistry, e.g. in internships, exercises and seminars, as well as participation in the research and teaching process.
Opportunity for further qualification (doctoral dissertation) is given. The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate.
The Technische Universität Darmstadt intends to increase the number of female employees and encourages female candidates to apply. In case of equal qualifications applicants with a degree of disability of at least 50 or equal will be given preference. Wages and salaries are according to the collective agreements on salary scales, which apply to the Technische Universität Darmstadt (TV-TU Darmstadt).
