At the Department of Chemistry, Technische Chemie 1, at Technische Universität Darmstadt, the position of a
is to be filled at the earliest opportunity in an employment contract limited to 3 1/2 years.
As part of a project funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF; Ideenwettbewerb Wasserstoff, Plattform H2Giga), complex-structured, mesh-like catalysts for alkaline water electrolysis under high current densities are to be developed. For this purpose, a commercial laboratory test stand for full cells must be put into operation and validated. Suitable measurement protocols for high current densities are to be established and the developed catalyst concepts for activity and stability are to be examined under technically relevant conditions. Together with the project partners from industry and university, the influence of the 3D structuring of the catalyst on the multiphase behavior is investigated. The partners support this with in-situ measurement technology and simulation. The joint project enables the close exchange and cooperation of actors in industry and universities in the field of water electrolysis.
Motivated candidates with a completed or soon to be completed doctorate in the field of technical electrochemistry or electrochemical process engineering should have profound knowledge and practical experience in the field of electrochemical systems at full cell level, including management of the accompanying substances (e.g. electrolyte cycle, etc.), as well as in the area of experimental testing in alkaline Water electrolysis under high current densities. Excellent team and communication skills are required for interdisciplinary work in the joint project.
The general tasks include the supervision of students in the field of technical chemistry, e.g. in internships, exercises and seminars, as well as participation in the research and teaching process.
The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate.
The Technische Universität Darmstadt intends to increase the number of female employees and encourages female candidates to apply. In case of equal qualifications applicants with a degree of disability of at least 50 or equal will be given preference. Wages and salaries are according to the collective agreements on salary scales, which apply to the Technische Universität Darmstadt (TV-TU Darmstadt). Part-time employment is generally possible.
