We are Sanctuary, an emerging spin-off of the Technical University of Darmstadt working on innovative system security technologies. At Sanctuary, we develop next-generation security architectures for today's and future computing devices ranging from resource-constrained embedded devices to powerful cloud servers.
We are currently building our core development team for our office in Darmstadt and are looking for a motivated

Research Assistant (f/m/d)

to support us starting in July 2021. You will work in close collaboration with all team members, allowing you to contribute own ideas and help to shape the future of our startup.

The position is located at the Computer Science Department of Technical University of Darmstadt, at the System Security Lab lead by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ahmad-Reza Sadeghi. The position is offered under the condition that the BMBF StartUpSecure grant is approved and is limited to 18 months. Subsequently, an employment in the spin-off is intended.

Your Future Tasks:

  • Be involved in the design of novel security architectures
  • Contribute to our applied security research
  • Lead parts of our software development efforts
  • Apply and contribute to our security development lifecycle
  • Opportunity to publish your work and engage with the scientific IT security community
  • Supervise and coordinate student assistants

Your Skill Set:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, information technology or related disciplines
  • Very good programming skills in C/C++ (experience with Rust or Assembly is a plus)
  • Experience with low-level software (operating system kernels, hypervisor, firmware)
  • A security background is a plus but not mandatory
  • Proficient in English or German
  • Structured and independent work method
