The Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Economics and Energy Systems Engineering IEE in Kassel conducts research for the transformation of energy supply systems and develops solutions for technical and economic challenges in the areas of energy economics and energy systems engineering. to strengthen their cooperation in the field of digitalized energy systems. Linked to the professorship and a research group at the Technical University of Darmstadt is the management of the Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Economics and Energy Systems Technology. This comprises the scientific-technical and entrepreneurial management and development of the institute within the Fraunhofer model and the overall Fraunhofer strategy. The activity at the Fraunhofer is conducted on assignment by the Technical University of Darmstadt; teaching obligations at the university comprise two semester hours per week (so-called "Berlin Model").

  • Process-oriented solutions for CO2 emission tracking and energy flexibilization

Motivating people and leading teams is one of your strengths and ensuring equal opportunities is part of your daily practice. You have several years of management experience of larger organizational units, experience in strategic planning, acquisition and implementation of large national and international research and development projects, as well as competences in technology transfer. Your readiness and interest to develop institutional collaborations is a prerequisite. International work experience is advantageous.

Requirements for employment are a doctorate and habilitation or proof of equivalent scientific achievements as well as pedagogical aptitude in addition to several years of industry experience.

You can expect diverse projects with a high level of practical relevance paired with large creative freedom in research.

Recruitment is based on civil servant status or a non-tariff employee relationship with a qualification-dependent salary/remuneration in accordance with the W salary scale. This is negotiated between the applicant and the university management. The hiring requirements of §§ 61 and 62 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz) apply.
