Research Assistants/PhD Students in the field of Resilient Wireless Communication

The employment contracts are fixed-term until 31st December, 2024.

Do you have a passion for innovation and research? Do you want to push wireless communication and develop new resilient, decentralized means of communication in one of the top engineering schools in Germany?

As a part of an international team, you’ll investigate and develop adaptive applications for the future Internet. You’ll have the chance to work across disciplines on the latest challenges of wireless systems in the area of decentralized communication, low-latency as well as disruption-tolerant networking, communication for UAVs, or software-defined radio (SDR) prototyping. Do you have experience in prototyping and want to leverage your skills for designing, building, and analyzing future wireless systems? You’ll have a chance to pursue your research (theoretical or experimental) within one of our PhD positions.

Required expertise:

We are looking for candidates with a strong interest in at least one of the following domains:

  • UAV-based mobile networks
  • Disruption-/Delay-Tolerant Networking
  • Wireless mesh networks
  • SDR-based wireless prototyping
  • Resilient, decentralized communication

General requirements:

  • Completed university degree with an excellent track record as well in the Master´s as in the Bachelor´s degree
  • Strong analytical and implementation skills
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Rust, C, Go)
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Opportunity for further qualification (doctoral dissertation) is given. The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate.
