Research Assistant/PhD position (all genders) in Cybersecurity + Privacy

to be filled with term contract initially limited to 3 years.

The Technische Universität Darmstadt is at the forefront of research in cybersecurity and privacy. Our group focuses on all the aspects of systems and networks security. We focus on the Internet, Internet protocols and their applications. We develop innovative cybersecurity and privacy solutions and work with partners from industry and government agencies. We are involved in international standardization (e.g., IETF). Much of our research is done in collaboration with leading academic and industrial cybersecurity institutions from around the world.

We are looking for highly motivated and qualified candidates to strengthen our team and our research activities.

Your profile:

  • A very good Master or Diploma in computer science or a related field
  • Practical experience and solid knowledge in cybersecurity
  • High self-motivation, dedication and independent work
  • Willingness to work in an international and excellence-oriented work environment
  • Fluent in German (at least C1 level) and English. If necessary applicants are expected to improve their language skills through intensive language classes.
  • Contribution to our academic teaching program

We are associated with the National Research Center for Applied Cybersecurity ATHENE and work very closely with the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology SIT. The work in ATHENE and the cooperation with Fraunhofer enable unique, direct access to the requirements and problems of industry and society.

Opportunity for further qualification (doctoral dissertation) is given. The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate.
