Project Manager (all genders) for European Research and Training Network

within the framework of a 4-year fixed-term employment contract. The position is to be filled from 01.10.2022.

We are looking for a communicative and independent personality who will cover a wide range of administrative, organizational, financial and communication tasks, and support the project coordinator in managing an international research and education network. The Marie-Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network Metal-Containing Radical Enzymes (MetRaZymes), an EU-funded four-year doctoral training network, trains 13 PhD students in the field of biocatalysis. The MetRaZymes network brings together 11 academic and several industrial partners from 7 European countries.

The candidate is expected to organize and report on the research and training program, as well as provide project management expertise to manage and implement the MetRaZymes network according to plan within the agreed timeframe, budget and EU requirements. Specifically, responsibilities include:

  • Responsible MSCA project management;
  • Pro-active planning, control and monitoring of project plans, milestones, deadlines, deliverables, etc...;
  • Independent preparation of internal and external (project) reports;
  • Assuming the central interface function with regard to cooperation and communication with the EU Commission, external cooperation partners and the university administration;
  • Independent controlling of project finances as well as support in the preparation and consolidation of financial reports in cooperation with the units of the university administration;
  • Advising project partners on administrative and financial procedural issues;
  • Conception, organization and/or coordination as well as support in the implementation of various network activities, such as publications, workshops and regular project meetings;
  • General aministrative support for the reserach group;
  • Supervision of budget and project accounts, including the preparation of proofs of use, invoice processing and control, and assumption of other administrative and organizational tasks in the department.

Applicants must have a university degree, preferably in a field of natural sciences, and proven experience in project management, especially with international research projects, specifically in the management of EU programs (FP7, H2020, HEurope, MSCA) and in the management of complex project budgets. A high level of responsibility, independence, organizational skills and communication skills as well as resilience, flexibility and conscientious style of work is expected. Very good written and spoken English skills are essential. Confident use of electronic communication media (email, social media) as well as common office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP is expected.
