Post-doctoral Researcher (all genders) in Reservoir Simulation

The employment is limited to three years and should preferably start on October 1st, 2022.

You will work within the framework of a project on the underground storage of hydrogen funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK). The interdisciplinary project is carried out in cooperation with partners from several universities and industry. The work at the TU Darmstadt is aimed at a potential study for two nearly depleted natural gas fields in northern Germany with regard to their suitability for storing hydrogen.

Your tasks

  • thermal-hydraulic-mechanical (THM) coupled modeling on the reservoir scale
  • dynamic modelling with H2
  • model interpretation
  • presenting and publishing the research results

Your qualification

  • doctorate/PhD in Reservoir Engineering, Geology, Geophysics or a related field
  • comprehensive knowledge of software Petrel, Eclipse, and ideally Visage (Petrel Reservoir Geomechanics)
  • social competence, organisational skills, high motivation
  • very good English and ideally German language skills

The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate. Opportunity for further qualification (habilitation) is given.
