Full Professorship (W3) High Frequency Technology

We are looking for an experienced researcher with excellent scientific credentials and international visibility in High Frequency Technology for life sciences, biomedical engineering, communications, radar or satellites. This entails the following research topics:

  • Microwave, millimeter-wave and Terahertz sensors and applications
  • Innovative technologies, as well as high frequency components and systems
  • Integrated high frequency circuits
  • Terahertz electronics (InP as well as Si-based)
  • Controllable micro-, millimeter-wave & Terahertz components (e.g. steerable antennas, adaptive filters and matching networks)
  • Novel, functional materials for micro- and millimeter-wave & Terahertz-components (e.g. liquid crystals, ferroelectrica, novel semiconductor materials)

The department offers the following experimental infrastructure:

  • Comprehensive microwave measurement laboratory, including spectrum analyzer for up to 40 GHz, several vector network analyzers and extenders for up to 550 GHz, as well as a semi-automatic wafer prober
  • Antenna measurement room/absorber chamber
  • Clean room for UV contact lithography incl. wet chemistry, metallization, plasma systems (PECVD, RIE), measurement instrumentation

The professorship should engage in interdisciplinary research collaboration with other groups in the department, with other departments in the university and with external research and industrial partners.

An excellent doctoral degree, pedagogical and didactic skills, as well as appropriate professional experiences (habilitation or habilitation-equivalent achievements) are required.

The position is tenured with a remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications, following the German "W-Besoldung" and subject to negotiations between the applicant and the university directorate. The regulations for employmentare specified under §§ 67 and 68 HessHG (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).
