The Biology Department of the Darmstadt University of Technology (TU Darmstadt), Germany invites applications for a

The position is offered for the duration of 2 years with the possibility of an extension.
This is an exciting opportunity to perform independent iPS cells/developmental biology research in a modern Biology Department within an interdisciplinary research environment.
The successful candidate should conduct own projects within the field of iPS cells and/or developmental biology focusing on brain disorders.
The aim of this position is to support a Postdoc in becoming an independent scientist. This involves career development courses, support in writing grant applications and in gaining teaching experience.
Required qualifications and experience
- A postgraduate degree (PhD) in a relevant field
- Research experience in the field of iPS cells and/or mammalian developmental biology
- Ability to conduct independent research projects
- Strong ambition to develop into an independent scientist
- Experience with mice/isolation of primary cells is of advantage
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate. Opportunity for further qualification (habilitation) is given.
