The name Bert Rürup is a trademark in its own right. Financial security and retirement products as well as an annuity factor bear his name. No other academic in recent years has so successfully gained access to and made his mark on German politics.

Long-time member of the German Council of Economic Advisers, a seasoned policy adviser and retirement expert par excellence, he worked with and followed the career paths of students and young scientists in his 33 years as a professor at TU Darmstadt:

“There is hardly another university that succeeds as well as Technische Universität Darmstadt in reconciling its high academic aspirations with the pursuit of practical training. Students moan about the enormity of the workload, in Engineering or Industrial Engineering for example. Once they graduate, however, they have very good career prospects across the board, in science as well as industry.”
