Age: 30

My research areas: NMR Spectroscopy, Hyperpolarization techniques, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics.

Name of my University / Research Institute: Vilnius University, Lithuania / Institute of Chemical Physics

Research period at the TU Darmstadt: August 2018 to 2020

My field of research is fascinating. To laymen I would explain it in the following comprehensible manner:

NMR spectroscopy is a great but rather insensitive experimental technique which allows characterizing materials at a molecular level. Therefore Dynamic Nuclear Polarization technique which transfers high electron spin polarization to the nuclei of interest and boosts the spectral sensitivity is the method of choice. Tailoring this technique for analyzing highly diluted technologically important catalytic systems as well as the systems of the biological relevance allows obtaining information about their nature which was previously inaccessible.

My most important success in research to date is…

that with every single day it fascinates me even more. I hope and believe that my most important findings and success are in the future.

I’ve chosen the TU Darmstadt because of…

the competent, collaborative and supportive environment which I found when I was visiting the host in 2014.
