Up to 9 PhD positions in collaborative project WhiteBox at the intersection of AI & Cognitive Science
The Center for Cognitive Science and the The Hessian Center for Artificial Intelligence at the Technical University of Darmstadt are inviting applications for up to 9 PhD positions in the collaborative project 'WhiteBox – explainable models for human and artificial intelligence'. This project is highly interdisciplinary and combines methods from cognitive science and artificial intelligence to gain a better understanding of complex behavior in humans and artificial systems. We seek students who want to earn a doctorate while contributing to world-leading research in this area.
The participating PhD advisors are:
Ralf Galuske, Frank Jäkel, Kristian Kersting, Heinz Koeppl, Jan Peters, Stefan Roth, Constantin Rothkopf, Andre Seyfarth, Ruth Stock-Homburg.
The positions may start in spring of 2021 and are fully funded until end of 2024. Each Phd-project is dedicated to an interdisciplinary research question and is mentored by several of our internationally renowned faculty. During your studies, you will conduct research and will be registered as a doctoral student at the university. The university offers a wide variety of support including scientific seminars, workshops, social activities, and assistance services.
Applicants with a strong academic background and a master’s degree in Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Control Theory, Neuroscience, Physics, or related fields are welcome to apply.
