GK Doctoral Symposium on Cognitive Science 2022 – Perspectives on Learning

2021/09/27

The CCS will host the 2022 Doctoral Symposium on Cognitive Science funded by the German Society for Cognitive Science (Gesellschaft für Kognitionswissenschaft), focusing on perspectives on learning and science communication. It will take place on April 6-8, 2022.

The 2022 Doctoral Symposium on Cognitive Science aims to provide a venue for doctoral candidates in Cognitive Science in Germany to discuss their research and ideas in the context of the topic Perspectives on Learning. Learning connects to many cognitive abilities that are crucial for intelligent behavior. As such, investigating the development and underlying principles of learning is highly relevant to many research fields in Cognitive Science.

The symposium will additionally focus on science communication. Active communication of research beyond the borders of the scientific community is an essential skill for academic research. It helps to convey the relevance of scientific endeavors to the general public and makes research more transparent. It is, however, rarely taught explicitly in a researcher's education. The symposium aims to narrow this gap by introducing practical tools and relevant skills for science communication.

The symposium will take place on April 6-8, 2022 at TU Darmstadt. We invite submissions of short abstracts on workshop or tutorial talks. Further information on the symposium, the registration, and the submission process can be found here .
