New Humboldt Professor Angela Yu to join the CCS

Professor Angela Yu, head of the Computational & Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at University of California San Diego, has received the Humboldt Professorship for Artificial Intelligence and is slated to conduct research at TU Darmstadt in the future.
The Alexander von Humboldt Professorship, which is endowed with up to five million euros in each case, honors world-leading researchers to work on long-term future-oriented topics at German universities. The award is presented by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The cognitive scientist , currently researching and teaching at the University of California San Diego, has been nominated for a Humboldt Professorship for Artificial Intelligence. She is employing a multidisciplinary approach that combines theoretical and experimental methods, and wants to establish calculation principles for important cognitive functions such as seeing, learning and decision-making.
