Professor Dr. Regine von Klitzing has been honoured with the Lectureship Award 2025 by the Chemical Society of Japan. The award ceremony took place at the end of September during this year’s Divisional Meeting on Colloid and Interface Chemistry in Chiba, Japan.

With this award, the society recognises the outstanding scientific contributions of von Klitzing and her team in the field of colloid and interface science. Her pioneering experiments on confined complex fluids are particularly noteworthy. These studies open new perspectives on the structural ordering of such fluids and shed light on how ion-specific effects influence interfacial forces. They make an important contribution to advancing the fundamental understanding of physicochemical processes at soft interfaces.

At TU Darmstadt, von Klitzing heads the research group Soft Matter at Interfaces at the Institute of Condensed Matter Physics (IPKM).

The Lectureship Award is presented every two years to internationally leading scientists whose research has significantly advanced the field of colloid and interface chemistry – a recognition that underscores the impact and visibility of von Klitzing’s work.
