Assistant-Professorship (W1) for Mathematics
in the research area Arithmetic and Global Analysis

to be filled as soon as possible. The position is available for the duration of six years.

The professorship is established within the new LOEWE research unit “Uniformized structures in Arithmetic and Geometry” and should strengthen it. Candidates should have a strong research and publication record, for instance in one of the following areas: automorphic forms, locally symmetric spaces, or global analysis.

Willingness to participate in cooperative work within the department and to attract third-party funding is expected.

Successful candidates are expected to teach classes in all mathematical degree schemes. Besides scientific qualifications, this makes didactic skills a basic requirement.

The position is not tenured. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in the above or a related areas. The experience as post-doctoral researcher should not exceed a total of 4 years. The prerequisites according to §64 Abs. 3 HHG (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz) apply. Remuneration follows the German W-Besoldung at level W1.
