At the Faculty of Chemistry of the Technical University of Darmstadt there is a position available as of the earliest possible date.
The position is limited until the end of the project (31.12.2020) with an option of extension.
The call aims for excellent scientists with a doctorate who are interested in working on a cooperation project between the TU Darmstadt and an industrial company. The project Green-Coating-Collaboration, which starts on 01.01.2019 at the TU Darmstadt, investigates thin polymer and polymer hybrid layers from renewable raw materials as novel barrier coatings for flexible packaging systems. Exciting concepts from the field of polymer sciences will be combined with application-oriented concepts in paper technology. The research orientation of the advertised position is to give a scientist the opportunity to further qualify in the areas of biogenic polymers, thin organic coatings and barrier properties, e.g. water vapour permeability and/or oxygen permeability.
An excellent degree in chemistry or chemical engineering and a doctorate are required - preferably but not mandatory in a subject area of macromolecular and/or paper chemistry.
The fulfillment of the duties likewise enables the scientific qualifications of the candidate.
The Technische Universität Darmstadt intends to increase the number of female employees and encourages female candidates to apply. In case of equal qualifications applicants with a degree of disability of at least 50 or equal will be given preference. Wages and salaries are according to the collective agreements on salary scales, which apply to the Technische Universität Darmstadt (TV-TU Darmstadt). Part-time employment is generally possible.
Applications with the usual documents and the mentioned identification number should be sent to the coordinator of the research focus Green Coating Collaboration, Prof. Markus Biesalski, Alarich-Weiss-Strasse 8, 64287 Darmstadt, via Prof. Rolf Schäfer, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry at the Technical University of Darmstadt.
