The TU Darmstadt is surrounded by greenery. Go for a walk, jog or take a little bike tour in the fresh air, which clears your head and offers the opportunity to recharge your batteries, relax and at the same time experience a bit of variety.

Different routes in Darmstadt

Starting point: TU Lichtwiese car park

End point: Albertsbrunnen

Use your break and visit the Botanical Garden of the TU Darmstadt. In addition to the pure plant show, the botanical garden is also a place for research. The outdoor area of ​​the Botanical Garden is open on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 9 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. The greenhouses will remain closed due to the current corona situation.

Visit the park in the Schlossgraben, a green oasis in the middle of the city center, which was renovated by the TU Darmstadt based on its historical condition in the 19th century.

Once enchanted and overgrown, now a green oasis again: planted according to historical models and enriched with ponds, babbling fountains and benches in places that allow new views of the castle.

End point: access to the castle moat at the northern bridge building opposite Karolinen-Platz (on the left in front of the entrance arch a staircase leads to the park)

Visit the Prinz-Georg-Garten in the Herrngarten. This garden is modeled on a French garden from the 18th century. and open in the summer months from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In the summer months, the orangery invites you to linger, switch off and enjoy. The Mediterranean planting makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the city.
