Science Meets Policy
An in-person workshop format for RMU scientists

Whether it's climate change, pandemic management, educational reforms, international conflicts, or sustainable energy supply, scientists can use their expertise to support politicians and administrators in making and implementing evidence-based decisions. The vehicle for this is scientific policy advice. From preparing brief analyses to participating in hearings and expert discussions to contributing to extensive studies and permanent expert committees, policy advice takes many different forms and formats.

However, at the interface between science and politics/administration, different goals, expectations, paradigms of action, and time horizons also collide: How can scientists position themselves well in this area of tension, engage in dialogue with politics/administration, and combine their commitment with their obligations in research and teaching?
