University is also a space for dialogue! We invite you to participate in My University Talks @ TU Darmstadt! The aim is to get to know the perspectives of fellow students who think differently, to listen to each other, to discuss and to strengthen democratic behavior together! My University Talks is an algorithm-based dialogue format that is based on the 'Deutschland spricht' initiative developed by ZEIT ONLINE in 2017 and has been implemented as 'My Country Talks' in over 100 countries with almost 300,000 participants. We can now use this format for the first time at our university to promote our dialogue culture – but also to relearn how to listen and argue.

This is how you can participate:

Answer the yes/no questions – the basis for your controversial conversation kick-off.

Based on your answers, an algorithm will select a conversation partner who disagrees with you on the questions asked and introduce them to you by email. (You will be given their first name, age, gender, how they answered the Yes/no questions and their field of study).

Via a link to a personal dashboard, you can get in touch with your identified dialog partner, exchange ideas and arrange to meet in person or virtually.

The discussion rounds will take place within a specified time frame, which should be adhered to, as this format represents a dialog project with a beginning and an end.

The pairs of discussion partners will be determined on Monday, November 25. From then until Monday, December 9, you will have time to meet with your dialog partner.

All data will be treated in accordance with the DSGVO guidelines and will only be used within the framework of the project. The data protection guidelines can be viewed here.

After the matching is complete, the university receives anonymous statistics on the number of participants and the percentage distribution of the answers.
