English for Engineers

Globalization means that, increasingly, employees from different countries and cultural backgrounds need to communicate with each other in English. This communication may involve presenting subject specific content to your own team or to other companies. It also may involve negotiating with business partners. The aim of this course is to help learners develop presentation and negotiation skills / techniques in English. They will further build up a technical vocabulary in order to deliver subject-specific presentations. The course emphasizes language input, technique and practice. Learners have the opportunity to try out what they have learned in class through individual, group work and role-plays.

  • The importance of questions in negotiations
  • Finding agreement in negotiations
  • Specialised vocabulary.

Target group

This course is designed for engineers who use English on a daily basis in their professional environment and need to communicate in English. This course enables students to deal practically with the challenge of professional interaction worldwide.

Entrance requirement

A college/university degree or a vocational degree, as well as job experience, a good command of English, at least level B1 (CEFR)

Lecturers are experienced in university teaching.
