The Presidium of Technische Universität Darmstadt
A Presidium, composed of a President, two male and one female Vice Presidents and a Chancellor, governs the autonomous Technische Universität Darmstadt. In the strategic development of the university, the Presidium consults closely with university bodies such as the University Council, the Senate, the University Assembly as well as the Departments and members of the university; it reports annually to the parliament of the Bundesland Hessen.
President Professor Dr. Hans Jürgen Prömel is responsible for the university’s strategy and structure, the appointment of new professors, research and junior researchers, quality management and international relations as well as for representing the university externally vis-à-vis policy-makers, society and other interested parties. Chancellor Dr. Manfred Efinger is in charge of the budget, human resources, property, physical infrastructure and legal matters. More
Vice President Professor Dr. Petra Gehring is in charge of the academic infrastructure (university library, computer centre, new media, e-learning), interdisciplinary culture as well as teacher training. More
Vice President Professor Dr. Holger Hanselka is responsible for knowledge and technology transfer, collaboration with industry and science, formation of spin-off companies, patent management, as well as alumni and fund-raising. More
Vice President Professor Dr. Christoph Motzko is in charge of all tasks related to studies, teaching and professional development. More
