The Presidium of the Technische Universität Darmstadt

The Technische Universität Darmstadt is governed by a presidium whose members are the president of the university, its vice-presidents, and its chancellor.

According to the TUD-Act, the presidium shall promote the university’s internal and external development, working in collaboration with the university council and its other organs, departments, members, and associates.

The presidium is obliged to report to submit financial statements to the university assembly on an annual basis.

Included among the presidium’s tasks are, in particular, organizational, developmental, and budgetary planning for the TU, concluding internal agreements regarding objectives at the TU and external agreements thereon with the responsible ministry, quality management, distributing budgetary appropriations, setting up and abolishing departments and degree programs, approving articles of incorporation, preparing performance reports and annual closing statements, and ruling on departures from appointment procedures.
