Lecture: Measures at TU Darmstadt to promote mental health
Lecture as part of the NaGAI lecture series on 18 December 2024, 11:40-13:10
2024/12/10
Wellbeing and mental health play an important role in today's academic and working world. What are the university and its stakeholders doing to promote well-being?

The event ‘Mental health’ as part of the NaGAI lecture series ‘Natural scientists in society, academia and industry – hurdles and opportunities’ provides a brief insight into the current study situation on mental stress in the academic environment as well as formative influencing factors that can affect well-being – from pressure to perform to the balance between learning and private life.
Practical approaches and offers of help for everyday life at the TU are presented. What are the university and its stakeholders doing to promote wellbeing? What preventative and supportive measures are available and how can students and staff actively participate?
This event presents specific programmes, counselling services and preventative courses at the TU that help to reduce mental stress and ensure a healthy balance in the long term. The event will be rounded off with an interactive exercise in which participants will have the opportunity to experience an exemplary scientifically based tool for promoting their own mental health for themselves. The aim is not only to provide theoretical background information, but also to enable participants to experience practical approaches to strengthen their own resources.
You are cordially invited to take part and benefit from the TU's offerings at this point.Date: 18.12.24
