Conceptual design and implementation of the optimization of a laboratory fluidized bed reactor

Master's thesis

2022/08/03

A laboratory-scale fluidized bed reactor is used at EST to investigate the gasification of biomasses and residues for the production of synthetic fuels and the oxidation/reduction of iron powder as a CO2-free energy carrier.

For two upcoming test campaigns, among other things, the fuel input system, the measurement technology and the steam and gas supply are to be optimized. In addition, the system is to be adapted for the safe use of hydrogen.

Within the scope of this work, a concept is to be developed and implemented to expand the application possibilities of the laboratory fluidized bed. For more information on the objective and work steps as well as the contact, please see the thesis announcement (PDF) (opens in new tab) .
